Description

Croatia’s northern border with Hungary is one of the lesser-known corners of this fascinating country. The area is ripe for discovery and the itinerary of the Iron Curtain Trail passes on totally flat roads through the border regions of Central Croatia and Slavonia. The route takes cyclists along the Croatian side of the Drava River through the UNESCO Biosphere Reserves Mura-Drava-Danube and Baranja region to the border with Serbia. Along the way, many watchtowers and border stones will remind cyclists that they are following a border that used to form part of the Iron Curtain.
